I-85 Road Work – South Carolina Upstate

SCDOT proposed to improve the I-85 corridor for approximately 12 miles to the North Carolina border.  The purpose of the project is to improve the performance of the existing roadway and to ease congestion problems along this burgeoning section of I-85.  Right of way acquisition has already begun and will continue into the Spring.

The project is utilizing a design-build firm that will design the project, obtain the necessary permits and acquire the right-of-way rights from property owners.  This project is the second largest infrastructure improvement contract ever awarded and as such will have a major impact on property owners in the area.
